GUWAHATI: Three people died when a car rammed a parked truck on the roadside on National Highway 37 in the Kamrup (Metro) district in the wee hours on Friday.
The incident took place at the Nazirakhat area near Sonapur, about 25 km from Guwahati.
According to the police, a Maruti Swift Desire Car (AS 01 BH 9714) was travelling from Nagaon to Guwahati when the accident took place. All three persons travelling in the car died on the spot.
The deceased were Babon Haloi, Gautam Banik and Subul Das.
While Babon Haloi and Gautam Banik hailed from Guwahati, Subul Das was from Nagaon.
Following the incident, the local police immediately rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
