GUWAHATI: A vehicle reportedly caught fire while it was being driven over the Beharbari flyover in Guwahati. Although the occupants managed to escape the vehicle, the vehicle was completely gutted in the incident. The exact cause of the incident is not known yet, but the owner mentioned that the car was recently sent for some maintenance work, and the incident could have resulted because of some faults in the same. The owner of the vehicle, who belongs to the Kahilipara area of Guwahati, mentioned that they found some foul smell while driving the vehicle and stopped to check, but it burst into flames soon afterwards. The fire was successfully doused by a team from the fire and emergency services department, and the damaged vehicle was towed away later to clear the road.
