GUWAHATI: The Apex Group of Companies is celebrating 25 glorious years on August 7, 2022. This Group of companies was established on the 7th of August, 1997 at West Boragaon, Guwahati, Assam.
Being one of the premier Jute Mills in the North–Eastern part of India, the three companies focusing on the spinning, weaving and stitching & dying of jute bags respectively have gone on to achieve a sterling reputation in the market due to their high-quality product and manner of timely delivery. The three companies that are engaged in the production of B- Twill Hydro
– Carbon-free gunny bags are namely Apex Yarn Private Limited, Ashoka Weaving Private Limited, and Atlanta Modular Private Limited. Apex Yarn Private Limited is concerned with the spinning of the raw Jute into fine yarn that is of two types – Cop and Spool. Ashoka Weaving Private Limited is concerned with the weaving of this yarn into the fabric so it can be turned into B – Twill Hydro – Carbon Free Gunny Bags. Atlanta Modular Limited is concerned with the stitching of this fabric into Gunny Bags along with their dying and bleaching process as well.
The project is the only kind of composite jute unit in the entire North Eastern Region catering to the market needs and extending its support to local jute growers and various ancillary units. It has also successfully managed to provide both direct and indirect employment to around five - thousand people in the state of Assam. During the initial stages of the three companies, the production capacity had stood at five (5) tons a day. In the present day, the production capacity of the three companies along with its new mega agro-industrial park under the banner of DJ Agro-Industrial Project Pvt Ltd at Mandakata, North Guwahati now stands at 100 tonnes per day.
In the year 2020, the promoters Dipjyoti Mahanta and Mili Mahanta also started a charitable foundation known as Dipjyoti and Mili Mahanta Foundation that is aimed toward the socio-economic development of the region through various philanthropic activities centred in rural, underdeveloped areas to raise the standard of living of the people there, a press release said.
