Assam: BJP President Dilip Saikia Nominated for ‘Sansad Ratna Award’

Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh President and Member of Parliament of the Darrang-Udalguri Lok Sabha constituency, Dilip Saikia has been nominated for the prestigious ‘Sansad Ratna Award’ for the year 2025.

This esteemed nomination stands as a proud testament to his exemplary parliamentary performance and unwavering commitment to the democratic institution.

The nomination was announced by a distinguished panel of jury headed by Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC). Instituted by Prime Point Foundation in 2010, the ‘Sansad Ratna Award’ is widely recognized as one of the highest accolades in Indian parliamentary democracy, celebrating outstanding performance and contributions by Members of Parliament.

This year, a total of 17 Members of Parliament from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been nominated. Alongside individual MPs, two parliamentary standing committees – the Standing Committee on Finance and the Standing Committee on Agriculture – have also received nominations for their exemplary performance.

The list of other nominated MPs selected for the celebrated honour include Bhartruhari Mahtab, N. K. Premachandran, Supriya Sule, Shrirang Appa Barne, Smita Uday Wagh, Arvind Ganpat Sawant, Naresh Ganpat Mhaske, Prof. Gaikwad Varsha Eknath, Dr. Medha Vishram Kulkarni, Praveen Patel, Ravindra Kishan Shukla, Dr. Nishikant Dubey, Bidyut Baran Mahato, P. P. Chaudhary, Madan Rathore, and C. N. Annadurai.
