SONAPUR: The two-day Chintan Baithak (strategic brainstorming session) of the Assam State BJP began this morning at the Mayfair Spring Valley Resort in Sonapur. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP National General Secretary (Organization) B. L. Santhosh, and National Spokesperson & MP Sambit Patra are among the key participants.
Nearly all state ministers, along with several MPs and MLAs, are attending the meet, in addition to the state BJP president, vice presidents, and other senior party leaders. According to sources, the main focus of the meeting is to devise strategies for the upcoming Assembly elections and the forthcoming Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections. Strengthening the party organization in the state and enhancing public outreach will also be key points of discussion.
Meanwhile, before attending the meeting, Minister Ashok Singhal told reporters that BJP leaders—including current ministers and MLAs—who lack a strong public base or fail to maintain good relations with the public may be denied party tickets in the upcoming elections.
