Assam Board Replaces Class XI Assamese MIL Drama for 2026-27

ASSEB has replaced "Kushal Konwar" with Jyotiprasad Agarwala's "Labhita" in the Class XI Assamese MIL syllabus for 2026-27, available under the free textbook scheme.

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-II, has announced a change to the Class XI Assamese MIL syllabus for the 2026-27 academic session, swapping out one prescribed drama for another.

The drama "Labhita", written by celebrated Assamese cultural icon Jyotiprasad Agarwala, will replace the previously prescribed drama "Kushal Konwar" starting from the upcoming academic year.

As per the official notification, "Kushal Konwar" will be discontinued from the Class XI Assamese MIL curriculum with immediate effect for the 2026-27 session.

Students and educators are advised to update their reading lists accordingly.

The newly introduced text, "Labhita", is published by the Publication Board Assam and is already available at leading bookstores for students enrolled in private institutions.

The Board has also confirmed that "Labhita" will be included under the government's free textbook scheme, ensuring that students in government schools across Assam can access the book without any cost barrier.
