Guwahati: In a significant development, the Chief Minister’s special Vigilance Cell on Thursday conducted raids at the residences of ACS officer Aswini Kumar Doley, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sivasagar Zilla Parishad, and his wife, Shibani Pegu, a ranger, in connection with a disproportionate assets case again. The raids, which began on January 4, have yielded a substantial amount of unexplained wealth and assets owned by the couple.

Raids were carried out at Doley’s Panjabari residence in Guwahati and Pegu’s official residence in Morigaon. At the Panjabari property, the team, accompanied by officials from the Forest Department, recovered and seized a significant quantity of wood and wooden materials.

Further investigations revealed that Doley owns multiple luxury properties in several areas, including Gorchuk, Bagharbori, Sonapur, and Borjhar. Authorities also recovered that the couple operates at least 20 bank accounts.

Doley has been serving as the CEO of Sivasagar Zilla Parishad since 2021. The raids have raised serious questions about the source of the couple’s extensive wealth, and the investigation is ongoing.
