Guwahati: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) Division II directed all its jurisdiction, higher education institutes, to conduct a pre-final test examination for the higher secondary final year students within December. The board also directed to upload the marks in the official portal.
It may be mentioned that the higher secondary education will start from February 13, 2025, and will end on March 17, 2025, and the practical examination will be held from January 29 to February 10.
To conduct the pre-final test examination, ASSEB issued a notification. The notification said, “As per the academic calendar of the session 2024-25 and the decision of the meeting held on November 5, 2024, with the principals of degree colleges and the inspector of schools, the ASSEB, Division II, it is decided to get conducted a pre-final test examination for the students of the H.S. Final Year within the month of December, 2024, in all the permitted/recognized institutions under its jurisdiction.”
ASSEB asked all the heads of the institutions concerned to make arrangements for holding the pre-final examination.
“It will be mandatory on the part of the examination-conducting institutions to keep the subject-wise marks obtained by the students under safe custody, and these marks will have to be entered in the marks entry portal of ASSEB, Division II, as soon as it is opened,” the notification said.
According to the notification, subject-wise question papers will be prepared under the direct supervision of the District Level Committee for Co-ordination and Monitoring of Examinations. All the heads of the institutions are also requested to set up arrangements for supplying the blank answer scripts, evaluating the answer scripts, declaring the results, issuing the mark sheet, etc.
The practical examinations shall be conducted by the internal examiner(s) and supporting staff.
It further said that the School Education Department, Govt. of Assam, issued an office memorandum on August 9, 2022, allowing the collection of a nominal fee with a break-up as shown in the office memorandum from the candidate appearing in the District Level Internal Examination for class IX and class X. The same notification may be taken as guidance for collecting fees from students appearing in District Level Internal Examinations in Class XI and Class XII if the District Level Committee for Co-ordination and Monitoring of Examinations decides so.
