STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has directed teachers covered under the Intra-District and Inter-District Mutual Transfer process to join their respective transferred schools within the stipulated time if neither of the mutual transfer partners is engaged or deployed in Census duties.
The directive comes in continuation of the mutual transfer orders issued through the Teacher Transfer Management System (TTMS) on August 10, 2026, and the DEE notification dated August 19, 2026.
According to the latest notification, the Directorate has noticed that some teachers have not yet joined their respective transferred schools despite neither of the mutual transfer partners being engaged in Census-related duties.
The DEE has therefore made it clear that in every mutual transfer case where neither partner is engaged or deployed in Census duties, both teachers must join their respective transferred schools within the stipulated period prescribed under Point No. 1 of the Terms and Conditions of the respective transfer orders.
The Directorate has warned that failure to comply with the direction will be viewed seriously and necessary action will be initiated against the defaulting teacher(s).
