Assam: DIG, GC CRPF Guwahati Manas Ranjan Pays Tribute to Martyrs

In a heartfelt gesture, Manas Ranjan, DIG, GC CRPF Guwahati, visited the families of three martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.

GUWAHATI: In a heartfelt gesture, Manas Ranjan, DIG, GC CRPF Guwahati, visited the families of three martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. On March 27, 2025, Ranjan paid his respects to the families of Shaheed CT/GD Apurba Deka, Shaheed CT/D Sunil Kalita, and Shaheed CT/GD Dibakar Das.

Ranjan’s first visit was to the home of Shaheed CT/GD Apurba Deka, who made the ultimate sacrifice on June 19, 2016, during a search and destroy operation in Bihar. He then visited the family of Shaheed CT/D Sunil Kalita, who was posthumously awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry for his bravery during an encounter with Naxals in Jharkhand on June 13, 2019. Ranjan’s final visit was to the home of Shaheed CT/GD Dibakar Das, who gave his life on July 4, 2016, while serving the nation. During his visits, Ranjan met with the families of the martyrs, including Veernari Jonalee Deka, Veernari Padumi Deka, and Karabi Das. He expressed his deepest condolences for their loss and praised the martyrs’ bravery and selflessness, stated a press release.
