GUWAHATI: With the Gauhati High Court specifically mentioning the teachers who should not get the grade pay of Rs 8,700 per month, the Director of Secondary Education, Assam, has issued the necessary guidelines to the inspectors of schools.
The Director requested the inspectors of schools to initiate the following action on the matter of allowing a grade pay of Rs 8700 to the teachers who were appointed in the upper primary schools in the intermediate scale of pay and holding an intermediate post in different amalgamated provincialised secondary schools:
(i) The Inspector of Schools (ISs) shall undertake an exercise to identify the teachers who were appointed in the Upper Primary Schools in the intermediate scale of pay and holding intermediate posts in different amalgamated provincialised secondary schools and subsequently allowed to draw the enhanced grade pay of Rs 8700 by the Inspector of Schools under his/her jurisdiction.
(ii) The Inspector of Schools shall pass the necessary order for the immediate stoppage of the drawal of Grade Pay of Rs 8700 by reviewing the earlier order in respect of such teachers allowing the enhanced Grade Pay. The order shall be communicated to all concerned, including heads of the institutions as well as all the treasury officers of the concerned district.
(iii) Moreover, those trained graduate teachers of erstwhile ME/MV/senior basic schools, who were allowed a revised grade pay of Rs 8700 irrespective of arts, science, and commerce graduates as per finance notification (FPC.04/2018/136, dated 04.08.2018) prior to amalgamation with secondary school, shall not be taken into consideration for the stoppage of enhanced grade pay of Rs 8700.
(iv) Further, necessary action in this regard shall be taken by all the inspectors of schools with immediate effect.
