Guwahati: In a proud moment for Assamese cinema, the feature film ‘Gaman: The Last Journey’ has secured an official selection at the prestigious Seven Continental Awards (SCA) Los Angeles, an international film festival.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Chandra Mudoi, the film delves into the timeless conflict between modern scientific advancements and the preservation of traditional rites and rituals. Through a thought-provoking narrative, it explores whether society should cling to its cultural roots or embrace progress through science. The story symbolically uses a crematorium to depict the journey of life across the past, present, and an increasingly science-driven future. Produced by Jatinindra Nath Khanikar and Bipul Kalita under the banner of B.K. Films, ‘Gaman: The Last Journey’ features renowned actors Jatindra Nath Khanikar, Dibyajyoti Das, Amrita Gogoi, Saju Ahmed, Ashim Krishna Baruah, Arati Kalita, and Amulya Kumar. Child actor Master Chakshit Om Sarma also plays a pivotal role in the film.
