GUWAHATI: To impart qualitative education in the state, the Assam government has decided to set up eight new Adarsha Vidyalayas. This has been informed by the CMO office through their social media accounts, stating that "creating the best human resource by imparting quality education has always been a prime focus of the Assam government." Fulfilling the vision, the government is all set to establish eight new Adarsha Vidyalayas across the various districts of the state."
As stated by the CMO office, the districts are one each in Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Charaideo, Kamrup (M), Sivasagar, Cachar, and two in Kamrup.
Currently, there are 56 functional Adarsha Vidyalayas in the state, where 17544 students are enrolled and 551 teaching and 246 non-teaching staff are engaged. 13 Adarsha Vidyalayas are updated to senior secondary level.
