GUWAHATI: Guwahati is set to host its 11th Queer Pride Parade on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., from Latasil Field. This year’s theme, “Passing the Mic,” aims to amplify marginalized voices within and beyond the LGBTQIA+ community. The event emphasizes intersectionality, encouraging dialogue around gender, sexuality, caste, and socioeconomic representation. Organizers have called on individuals from all walks of life to participate, stressing the need for collective action in the fight for equal rights.
“True inclusion involves recognizing and uplifting voices that are often sidelined,” said an organizer.
Since its inception, Queer Pride Guwahati has been a pioneering force for LGBTQIA+ rights in Northeast India. The event has evolved into a significant movement, addressing issues of identity, inclusion, and equality.
