Assam: NABARD Felicitates 14 Women Farmers in Guwahati City

NABARD Assam recognized the outstanding contributions of 14 women farmers from various districts of Assam, felicitating them as ‘Women in Agriculture” at an event held in Guwahati.

GUWAHATI: NABARD Assam recognized the outstanding contributions of 14 women farmers from various districts of Assam, felicitating them as ‘Women in Agriculture” at an event held in Guwahati.

The event was part of a three-day Mela, organized in collaboration with Pratidin Time-Nandini Winter Wonderland, from November 29 to December 1, 2024. Loken Das, Chief General Manager of NABARD, acknowledged the women’s exceptional performance in agriculture and highlighted NABARD’s initiatives for the all-round development of women, particularly tribal women.

Das informed that NABARD has initiated various interventions for women’s development, including programs focused on tribal women. The secretary of the Agriculture Department, Government of Assam, Tej Pratap Bhushal, appreciated NABARD’s initiative and encouraged the women farmers to face challenges and gain expertise in the agriculture sector. The event also featured a NABARD Pavilion with five stalls showcasing tribal and other products from different districts of Assam, stated a press release.
