Guwahati: The Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water & Sewerage Board (GMDWSB) has opened online registration for new water connections in multiple localities of the city starting Monday, February 3.
Residents of Kushal Nagar, Pragati Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Jonaki Nagar, Bodo Chowk Mathgharia, Bapuji Nagar, Forest Gate, Narengi, Pathar Quarry, Pub Geeta Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Haripur, Mother Teresa Road (RHS from Gurukul to Shanti Nagar Durga Mandir), Mathgharia, Nijrapur Shiv Mandir, Borbari, and Khargeshwar Path can now apply for water connections under the new system. Interested residents can register for a new water connection through: • Website: gjb.assam.gov.in • Mobile App: “GJB” app (available on Google Play) • QR Code: Scan the QR code available in official advertisements on ‘X’ For further assistance, applicants can contact the GJB Helpline at 60039 20846 / 60024 78263 or email md.gjb@nic.in.
The Guwahati Jal Board, in collaboration with the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), is also offering a subsidy of up to Rs 7,000 for ration card holders who switch from the existing GMC water supply to the JICA-assisted water supply system. This initiative aims to improve the city’s water infrastructure and ensure a steady supply of clean drinking water to more households.
