Assam: Second Phase of Gunotsav-2025 Concludes, Evaluation Conducted in 14 Districts

GUWAHATI: The second phase of Gunotsav-2025 concluded successfully on January 22, 2025. Held from January 17-22, 2025, the evaluation comprised self-assessment on January 17 and external evaluation from January 20-22 in 14 districts of the state– Baksa, Charaideo, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup (Metro), Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia and West Karbi Anglong. A total of 13,84,066 students from classes I to IX of 15,650 schools (government/provincialized schools, Adarsha Vidyalayas, Tea Garden Model schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalayas and Tea Garden Management schools) participated in the exercise, which was conducted by 17,020 external evaluators.

During the evaluation process, IAS, IPS, IFS, ACS, APS, AFS, and Class-I & II officials of the state government took an active part as external evaluators. Similarly, ministers, MPs, MLAs, CEMs, and EMs also took part in various schools as external evaluators and interacted with the students, teachers, parents/guardians, mother groups, community members, and others.

On the first day of external evaluation, Minister Jogen Mohan visited PM Shri Mahmora High School, Mahmora under the Charaideo district and Minister Ajanta Neog visited No. 1 Town Model L.P. School, Near Pachali, Chandmari, Golaghat Town and Fallangani Bapuji High School, Mur Phuloni, Dakghar Charali under the Golaghat district.

They act as external evaluators and also interact with students, teachers, parents/guardians, community members, and others.

On the second day of the external evaluation, Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu visited Phaguna Rabha High School, Kahilipara, Lakshmi Nath Bezbarua ME School, Kahilipara and Narakasur High School, Kahilipara under the Kamrup (Metro) district and interacted with students, teachers, parents/guardians, community members, and others. Similarly, Minister Atul Bora visited Prasanna Vidyapith, Ulubari and Jalukbari H.S. School, Jalukbari under the Kamrup (Metro) district; Minister Nandita Garlosa visited Longre Basic LP School, Baithalangso, Tika Government ME School, Baithalangso and Edenbari ME School, Baithalangso under the West Karbi Anglong district; Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma visited Borobazar H.S. School, Borobazar, Bijni; KGVB, Borobazar, Bijni and Saragaon L.P. School, Saragaon, Bijni under Chirang district; Minister Rupesh Gowala visited Deering Bagisha L.P. School, Deering Tea Estate, Kaziranga National Park under Golaghat district;  MP Pradan Baruah visited Nilakh High School, Shripani under Dhemaji district and they act as external evaluators.

On the third day of the external evaluation, Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah visited Irangdao High School, Kharua and No. 700 Kharua L.P. School under the Baksa district and Minister Jogen Mohan visited Matikhula M.V. School, Dakhin Dhemaji and Dhemaji Town L.P. School, Dhemaji Sadar under the Dhemaji district; Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass visited Chinmayee Girls High School, Golakganj and Chhagolia M.E. School, Agomoni under the Dhubri district; Minister Nandita Garlosa visited Radha Nagar M.E. School, Dayangmukh, PM Shri Gandhi Vidyapith Hindi L.P. School, Kheroni Chariali and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Dikhreng Socheng under the Dima Hasao district; Minister Atul Bora visited Rajendra Narayan Dev M.E. School, Hatigaon, Guwahati and Narakasur Jr. Basic School, Kahilipara, Guwahati under the  Kamrup (Metro) district, and they act as external evaluators.

 The external evaluators evaluated the performance of the students on scholastic in both skill (reading, writing, numeracy and basic mathematical operations) and subject areas and school evaluation areas (co-scholastic and other areas, community participation and contributions, school uniform, infrastructure, etc.). The third phase of Gunotsav-2025 is scheduled from February 4-7, 2025, in 10 districts– Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Cachar, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Majuli, Morigaon and Nalbari.
