Assam: Sonapur Police Destroys 200 Litres of Illicit Liquor in Byrnihat

GUWAHATI: A team from Sonapur Police Station conducted an operation in the Byrnihat area on May 4, resulting in the destruction of 200 litres of illicit liquor. The police also seized 58 bottles of illegal liquor from Kamalajhari and the 14 Mile area as part of the crackdown.

Officials confirmed that the seized liquor was disposed of on the spot following legal procedures. The Assam Police highlighted their efforts to curb the distribution and consumption of illegal alcohol in the region through their official X handle. The police have intensified surveillance in sensitive zones, indicating that further action is expected in the coming days as part of the ongoing campaign against illicit liquor.
