Guwahati: “Miyanland dream will never be fulfilled as long as BJP has even one MLA in Assam,” said state BJP. State BJP Chief Spokesperson Kishore Kumar Upadhyay while addressing the media issued a strong warning against what he termed as “separatist and divisive designs” by elements within the Bengal-origin Muslim community. He categorically asserted that the idea of establishing a so-called ‘Miyanland’ in Assam would never be allowed to take root.

Upadhyay declared, “As long as Assamese blood runs through our veins and even one BJP legislator remains in the Assembly, such delusional dreams will be crushed.” He severely condemned the actions of certain Congress MLAs who, in the past, shamelessly raised such divisive demands in the Assembly, later demanding ‘Miya Poetry’, ‘Miya Museum’, and other such instruments aimed at legitimizing a separatist narrative.

Taking direct aim at Congress State president Gaurav Gogoi, Upadhyay asked why he remained silent on what he called provocative and anti-national rhetoric by some parliamentarians. He alleged that Congress’ leniency has emboldened individuals with secessionist motives, including those acting as covert agents of Bangladesh.

Citing historical and religious encroachments, Upadhyay highlighted cases like the occupation of Batadrava Satra by Jamai Basti settlers, the alleged construction of a madrassa on the grounds of Rampur Satra, and attempts to rename Kamakhya’s Surya Pahar as ‘Qudratpur’. He claimed these incidents reflect a “deliberate cultural aggression” aimed at erasing Assamese identity.

Reaffirming BJP’s commitment, he invoked the legacy of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhavdeva, stating that the party will continue to protect Assam’s indigenous heritage and culture. “Every illegal encroachment will be eradicated, and all Bangladeshi infiltrators will be expelled under the strong leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma,” Upadhyay concluded.
