Guwahati: The All Assam ME Teacher Association has urged the government to appoint head teachers in Upper Primary (UP) schools without further delay. The demand was raised during the association’s steering committee meeting held in Guwahati on Sunday, presided over by its president, Dwipen Sarma.

Expressing disappointment over the prolonged delay in appointments, the association criticized the government for failing to fill the vacant head teacher positions in UP schools over the past few years. They also highlighted the need for separate toilets for boys and girls and called for an increase in infrastructure development funds for schools.

Additionally, the association raised concerns over the denial of promotions to deserving teachers, alleging that the government was deliberately withholding their promotions. They emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues to ensure better administration and development in UP schools across Assam.
