DIMORIA: Hundreds of people gathered at the office of Unnati Trading Co-operative Society Limited, demanding the return of their deposited money. Customers have alleged that officials of the society were collecting daily deposits but failed to return the money on time. Following this, police arrived at the scene and brought the trading agents and owners to the Khetri police station to control the situation.
According to the complaints, two brothers named Sagar Kalita and Jitu Kalita opened the society in Khetri around five to six years ago and collected massive sums of money from the public. However, instead of returning the money, they allegedly embezzled crores of rupees under various pretexts.
According to police, hundreds of customers gathered at the Khetri police station seeking justice.
