Assam: Two State Colleges get NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Accreditation

Eight colleges of state get 'letters of intent' from NCTE

GUWAHATI: The NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has graded two colleges of Assam. The NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education), on the other hand, has given letters of intent to eight colleges in the state.

Katahguri College of Nagaon achieved NAAC accreditation with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.33 on a 7-point scale, scoring a B grade. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, Eraligool, in the Sribumi district, achieved NAAC accreditation with a CGPA of 2.6 on a 7-point scale, scoring a B+ grade for five years.

On the other hand, Goalpara College, Jawaharlal Nehru College at Boko, Golaghat Commerce College, Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous), Rangapara College, LTK College in Lakhimpur, ADP College in the Nagaon district, and Dhemaji College received the letters of intent from NCTE for recognition and permission to offer the integrated teacher education programme (ITEP). This will offer students the opportunity to pursue a four-year integrated B.Ed. course.
