GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Jal Board (GJB) has announced a temporary suspension of water supply in several areas of the city due to technical issues encountered during testing. The affected areas are served by the Amiya Nagar, Ramsa Hill, and Lichubagan reservoirs. The disruption is aimed at addressing security aspects, including leakage, prevention, and pipeline disruptions, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s water supply infrastructure.
According to a Jal Board official, the technical issues are being resolved, and the water supply is expected to be restored by January 8, 2025. The official apologized for the inconvenience and appreciated the cooperation and understanding of consumers during this period. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements until the water supply is restored.
