GUWAHATI: Incidents of sexual assault on children have increased at an alarming rate in Assam. A driver allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl in the city on Monday.
According to sources, the incident took place in Noonmati. The driver has been identified as Gagan Das. The victim's family lodged a complaint against him, allegedly that he had raped the minor girl. Noonmati Police have arrested the accused and started investigation.
Increasing cases of sexual assualt on minor girls have become a major cause of concern. The need of the hour is to take stringent measures to put a check on such crimes and to ensure safety of minor girls.
