GUWAHATI: For the Janmotsava of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva on October 8, Dry Day is declared in Kamrup Metropolitan district as per the order of the Kamrup Metropolitan district Deputy Commissioner (DC). During this period, the possession, distribution and sale of liquor is completely prohibited. All the wholesale and bonded warehouses, IMFL retail ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’ shops including clubs, hotels and country spirit shops is directed to remain closed during this period. Any violation will attract penal action as per law.
