Guwahati: In yet another alarming case of employment fraud, two young men have fallen victim to a job scam involving fake promises of government jobs at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati.
The accused, identified as Umesh Das from Nalbari, allegedly posed as an employee of Janata Bhawan and lured the victims, Kunaljit Basishtha and Mridul Deka, with the promise of fourth-grade government positions. The victims were reportedly made to pay over Rs 8 lakh in total and even submitted their original documents and certificates, believing the process to be authentic. However, after repeated delays and excuses from the accused, the duo grew suspicious and eventually approached the police. Based on their complaint, an investigation was launched, exposing the fraudulent operation. Further investigations are underway.
