GUWAHATI: The Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) has suspended Akhirul Islam, who was the accountant under the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) at the Gauripur Development Block.
According to an order issued by P&RD Commissioner Hemen Das, Islam was found to be responsible for making payment to a vendor without inviting quotation and without copy/reference of materials at site account/stock book.
