Guwahati: The All Assam Lawyers’ Association (AALA) has urged the Central Government to root out terrorism and restore peace in Kashmir. The association also called upon the Centre to apply military and diplomatic strategies to eliminate terrorism from the region.

In a statement, AALA president Sailendra Das, working president Manas Sarania, and general secretary Dipak Kumar Das expressed deep sorrow over the horrific incident, terming it not only an attack on innocent lives but also a threat to the country’s integrity.

Describing Kashmir as more than just a tourist destination, the association stated that the region has long stood as a symbol of communal harmony and natural beauty. The attack, they said, has shaken all sections of society that believe in peace and coexistence. The association has also urged all advocate societies across the state to protest against terrorism. All union members under AALA have been requested to take part in the protest demonstrations.
