Guwahati: A four-day-long Asomi Bohagi Mela was inaugurated today at Amrit Udyan, Hengrabari, under the initiative of the District Mission Management Unit of Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM), which functions under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of the Government of Assam. The Mela, which will continue till April 12, was formally inaugurated by Pushpanjali Das, Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
Notably, the fair has been organized with the aim of providing a designated marketplace for the sale of products made by the members (Sakhis) of self-help groups (SHGs), said a press release.
