Guwahati: In a continued crackdown on the drug menace, CGPD teams from Paltanbazar, Panbazar Police Stations, and Fancy Bazar OP conducted a series of successful raids in Guwahati, arresting three drug peddlers and seizing narcotics and other materials. In the first operation, a team from Paltanbazar police station raided a hideout in the Vishal Market area and apprehended Sanjib Deka alias Guddu (25), a resident of Panbazar. The police recovered 10 vials of heroin weighing 12 grams, a syringe, and Rs 620 in cash from his possession. In a separate raid, the Panbazar PS team arrested Saddam Hussain (22) of Fatasil Ambari from a hideout near Ushamati, 3 No. Rail Gate. Eight vials of heroin weighing 11.25 grams and Rs 20 in cash were seized from him. Meanwhile, in a joint operation, a CGPD team from Panbazar PS and Fancy Bazar OP raided another location at 3 No. Rail Gate and arrested Hasim Khan (39) of Lakhtakia. Nine vials of heroin weighing 11.93 grams and one mobile phone were recovered from his possession. Legal action has been initiated in all three cases.
