Guwahati: The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Dispur College, in collaboration with the Indian Institution of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, successfully conducted a five-day Management Development Programme (MDP) for undergraduate students from March 8 to March 13, 2025. The training programme, held at the Lakshminath Bezbaruah (LNB) Conference Hall, Dispur College, aimed to equip final-year students of Arts and Commerce with essential entrepreneurship skills.
The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including entrepreneurial mindset development, market analysis, financial planning, leadership and risk-taking, branding, packaging, legal compliance, digital marketing, and MSME policy support. The programme featured distinguished resource persons from IIE Guwahati, Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM), industry experts, District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC), government officials, and faculty members, who provided valuable insights to the participants.
A total of 25 final-year students actively participated in the programme, which was initiated and coordinated by Dr. Himangshu Kalita along with the Innovation Ambassador of the college.
During the valedictory session, Dr. Navajyoti Borah, Principal of Dispur College, highlighted the significance of such initiatives in complementing regular academic coursework. Participants shared positive feedback, describing the sessions as informative, engaging, and instrumental in enhancing their entrepreneurial knowledge.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to the attendees, marking the successful completion of the training. The IIC, Dispur College, has expressed its commitment to organizing more such skill-orientated initiatives in the future, stated a press release.
