Guwahati: In a major crackdown on the drug menace in the city, Guwahati police conducted a series of successful raids and arrested three individuals involved in drug peddling. Substantial quantities of heroin were recovered during the operations.
Acting on specific intelligence, a team from Jalukbari Outpost raided a hideout near the Jalukbari Roundabout and apprehended one Amin Ali of Lakhinagar. The police recovered one soap case and four vials containing heroin, weighing a total of 41.26 grams, from his possession. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him.
In a separate operation, the team from Panbazar Police conducted a raid at the No. 2 Rail Gate area. The team arrested Rejakul Ali (27), a resident of Chapor, and seized seven vials of heroin weighing 9.22 grams. Legal action has also been initiated in this case.
Meanwhile, another team from Azara Police apprehended Pinku Ali (22) of Azara after he was caught in possession of 12 vials of heroin, weighing approximately 17 grams.
