Guwahati: IIE’s advanced bakery & confectionery skill development programme concludes

Guwahati: The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) successfully concluded a five-day non-residential Skill Development Programme on Advanced Cake Making, Bakery, and Confectionery at its Food Processing Livelihood Business Incubator (LBI) Centre in Guwahati. Designed to foster entrepreneurial spirit and skill enhancement in the bakery sector, the paid training programme drew participation from 25 aspiring bakers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Manipur.

Speaking at the valedictory session, IIE Director Ishwar C Poojar emphasized the potential of the bakery sector, stating, “This advanced training will mark a milestone for each participant and open up new pathways for every baker-entrepreneur.” Under the expert guidance of Master Trainer Minaksee Dutta, participants gained hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of the bakery and confectionery trade. The course was directed by Dr. Santanu M. Deka, Associate Faculty Member at IIE, with Nalinakshya Chamuah serving as the programme coordinator.

Certificates were awarded to all participants by Ishwar C Poojar and A.S. Dewan, Associate Faculty Member, marking the formal close of the training. The programme concluded with a lively Bakerpreneur exhibition, where participants showcased a diverse range of baked and confectionery products developed during the training.
