GUWAHATI: A team from Fatasil Ambari PS busted an illegal IMFL storage at GMC Colony in Fatasil Ambari bringing a covert booze racket crashing down. Police apprehended individuals identified as Prodip Das and Arjun Sah. Police seized 354 bottles of IMFL of various brands, makes, and Rs 90,000 in cash.
Police broke 48 bottles of Kingfisher Beer (650 ml each), 168 bottles of Imperial Blue (180 ml each), eight bottles of Lahe Lahe (600 ml each), 12 bottles of Budweiser Beer (650 ml each), 46 bottles of AC Black (375 ml, two bottles of Royal Stag (180 ml), 48 bottles of Officer’s Choice (180 ml each), 16 bottles of McDowell’s No.1 (180 ml each) and six bottles of Royal Green Whiskey. Legal action initiated.
In another incident, a team from Basistha PS raided a hideout in Kundilnagar and arrested a drug peddler named Yasin Hussain alias Guddu (27) of Dhirenpara. Police seized 900 Nitrazepam tablets (640.02 g), Rs 11,020 in cash and a mobile phone. Legal action initiated.
