Guwahati: Residents of Kumarpara Panchali, near Bharalumukh, were gripped by panic and curiosity on Friday after spotting three leopards—an adult and two cubs—near residential areas.

Eyewitnesses captured videos of one of the leopards, which quickly went viral on social media, attracting large crowds to the scene.

Forest officials were alerted about the incident around 2:30 p.m. and swiftly arrived at the spot.

Preliminary assessments suggest the leopards may have strayed from nearby forests, possibly in search of food or due to habitat disturbances. Authorities have appealed to residents to avoid crowding around wildlife sightings to ensure safety for both humans and animals.

Authorities are making every effort to save the three leopards and return them to the wild in a safe manner.
