GUWAHATI: Samagra Shiksha, Assam (SSA) continues to inspire students through its innovative career counselling podcast series, specially designed for students from classes IX to XII. The fourth episode, held on November 29, 2024, featured Narayan Konwar, IAS, Secretary, Department of School Education, Government of Assam. His session provided invaluable insights into Civil Services preparations, debunking myths about exam mediums, explaining the pattern, and offering tips on selecting the right coaching institute.
The programme, streamed live across Tele-Education Classrooms, Smart Classrooms, YouTube, and Facebook, drew an impressive 18,000 viewers. Konwar’s motivational advice on perseverance and strategic preparation left a lasting impact, with students actively participating and engaging with his guidance.
In addition to podcasts, Samagra Shiksha, Assam has distributed the Career Tree—a comprehensive chart detailing educational pathways, skills, and job prospects—to 8.6 lakh secondary students in 4,285 government schools. Furthermore, Career Guidance Table Books (Volumes I and II) serve as a blueprint for students’ dream careers. To date, 4,326 teachers have been trained to support students through career counselling sessions. These initiatives underscore Samagra Shiksha’s commitment to empowering Assam’s youth with the tools and knowledge for informed career choices, a press release said.
