GUWAHATI: Bhagaduttapur police arrested a person, Jannur Ali, on Monday night on the charge of sexually assaulting his 12-year-old stepdaughter. According to the police, Jannur Ali, hailing from Mandakata in the Kamrup district, took a fake identity with the Kalita title and married a Hindu woman who has a daughter from her former wedlock. A case (300/225) has been registered at Dispur police station to this effect.
