GUWAHATI: A major controversy has erupted after a man named Wajahat Khan allegedly posted inflammatory and derogatory remarks on social media about the Kamakhya Temple and Hindu beliefs. Khan, who is reportedly based in Kolkata, published a series of offensive statements targeting Hindu deities, sparking widespread outrage among the public and religious communities. The controversial posts came to light on June 1, prompting immediate backlash from citizens and religious organizations across several states. The posts were condemned for being disrespectful towards one of the most revered temples in India, the Kamakhya Temple, located in Assam. In response to the growing outrage, the Cyber Crime Branch has registered a case against Wajahat Khan.
