Guwahati: A major fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday at a hardware shop located in Colony Bazar, Bamunimaidam, leading to significant property damage. The blaze, which reportedly started around dawn, quickly engulfed the entire shop before it could be brought under control. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after a prolonged operation. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported. Initial estimates suggest that goods and property worth approximately Rs 40 lakh were destroyed in the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
