Guwahati: In a noteworthy step towards promoting research and training in sustainable development, the National Institute of Design (NID), Assam, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Green Action Foundation (GAF), Guwahati, on Tuesday. The signing ceremony took place at the NID Assam campus.
The MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions by jointly utilizing resources for the design and development of projects, research, training, and activities focused on sustainable industrial practices. The partnership also envisions the development of socially impactful products created through collaboration between students and faculty of the institute.
The MoU was signed in the august presence of Prof. J P Sampath Kumar, Director of NID Assam. Dulumoni Kalita, Registrar, NID Assam, and Sujit Kumar Das, CEO of GAF, formalized the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. Also present on the occasion were Pranab Kumar Sarmah, Director of the Centre for Business Enterprise (CBE), GAF, all Discipline Leads, and the Deputy Registrar of NID Assam.
This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for applied research and capacity building in the field of sustainable design and development.
