Guwahati: Record-Breaking Revenue Collection by Kamrup (M) Transport Office

The Kamrup Metropolitan District Transport Office has achieved a historic milestone by collecting an all-time high revenue of over Rs 5,340 crore during the financial year 2024-25.

Guwahati: The Kamrup Metropolitan District Transport Office has achieved a historic milestone by collecting an all-time high revenue of over Rs 5,340 crore during the financial year 2024-25. This remarkable figure marks an increase of Rs 640 crore from the previous year’s collection of Rs 4,702.56 crore, making it the highest revenue ever recorded by the transport department.

The department has contributed Rs 5,346.81 crore to the state treasury, reflecting the dedication and efficiency of the team under the leadership of Gautam Das, Special Duty Officer of the Transport Department and Additional District Transport Officer (DTO) of Kamrup Metropolitan.

Among the various branches, the Registration and Permit Branch, supervised by Gautam Das, recorded the highest-ever revenue collection of Rs 5,007.80 crore. The Enforcement Wing, led by DTO Himanshu Kumar Das, generated Rs 318.32 crore through fines, while the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Office, under the guidance of Transport Officer Tamchin Aftab, collected Rs 206.88 crore.

Expressing his gratitude for this exceptional achievement, Gautam Das praised the relentless efforts of the department’s officials and employees, particularly acknowledging the dedication of enforcement inspectors in ensuring timely tax collection. He also extended his appreciation to responsible vehicle owners and media personnel for supporting the department’s initiatives and promoting safe travel practices.

Das further encouraged vehicle owners to uphold Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vision of an accident-free Assam by adhering to transport regulations and maintaining regular documentation.

The record-breaking revenue collection has brought immense pride to the Kamrup Metropolitan District Transport Department, highlighting the collective effort in achieving this significant accomplishment.
