GUWAHATI: In an effort to enhance the quality of education for students across Assam, Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA), in collaboration with Mission Gyan, has launched “e-Kaksha” today. Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu launched ‘e-kaksha’ at the State Mission Office of Samagra Shiksha.
E-kaksha is a digital learning platform aimed at providing accessible and comprehensive educational content for students from classes 1 to X. The initiative offers lessons in a variety of subjects, including English, Assamese, geography, history, social science, etc., all available in the Assamese language for students. As part of the event, 45 teachers were recognised and awarded certificates for their contributions in developing content for the e-Kaksha programme This initiative is expected to enhance digital learning opportunities for students, empowering them with accessible educational resources across Assam.
Dr. Pegu congratulated Samagra Shiksha, Assam, and Mission Gyan for such a great collaboration to provide ready information to students of all schools (government and private). Dr. Pegu also appreciated the teachers who have developed the videos with great clarity on every topic. Dr. Pegu also requested the programmers to develop the contents in Bengali and Bodo medium for the greater benefit of students. It may be noted here that Mission Gyan has implemented this programme in a pro bono manner.
The e-Kaksha platform is designed to bridge the gap created by the shortage of subject-specific teachers in many schools, particularly in rural and remote areas. This initiative allows students to access high-quality video lessons at their convenience, empowering them to learn and understand key concepts in a flexible and self-paced manner.
By leveraging technology and ensuring that the lessons are delivered in Assamese, the program is tailored to the local needs of students, making it easier for them to connect with the content and absorb the material more effectively. The platform also aims to provide equal learning opportunities for all students, regardless of their geographical location.
The e-Kaksha channel is now live on YouTube, and students, parents, and teachers can easily access the lessons through the official channel. To access the classes, visit the official YouTube link: e-Kaksha Assam YouTube Channel.
This initiative is a significant step towards digital inclusion in education, helping students in Assam overcome the challenges posed by teacher shortages and creating a more robust learning environment.
Samagra Shiksha Assam is a flagship programme of the Government of Assam that focuses on providing quality education to students across the state, with a special emphasis on ensuring inclusive and equitable learning for all.
