Guwahati: With the aim of producing capable administrative officers from among the students of Assam, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has launched a special project titled Pratyasha. Under this initiative, 40 students from Assam and the Northeast will be provided free coaching at a training institute in Delhi.
Today, a written selection test was conducted in Guwahati, to select candidates from Assam for this project. Applications for the test were accepted through AASU’s website, and a total of 517 candidates from across the state applied. Out of these, 52 candidates will be shortlisted from the written test. Once the results are declared, the selected candidates will appear for a personal interview.
From these, 26 candidates will be chosen from Assam. In addition, through the North East Students’ Organization (NESO), two candidates each will be selected from the seven northeastern states, totaling 14 candidates. Thus, altogether 40 students will be sent to Delhi for training starting September 1.
Each selected candidate will receive free admission, training, and a monthly stipend of Rs 12,000 for accommodation and other expenses. The training will be conducted at NEXT IAS in Delhi.
