Guwahati: Suspect arrested in Pandu murder case, wooden baton recovered in city

GUWAHATI: The Jalukbari police have made a breakthrough in the murder case of Raju Dey, a resident of Pandu locality in Guwahati, by arresting the prime suspect, Amulya Rajbongshi. The accused was taken into custody after a thorough investigation, and the wooden baton used in the crime was also recovered by the police.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night when Raju Dey was found injured and unconscious near a grocery shop in Pandu. He was rushed to Boripara Hospital and later referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he succumbed to his injuries. According to the FIR lodged by Rajdeep Dey, his father, Raju Dey, was allegedly murdered by Amulya Rajbongshi.

Rajdeep Dey has urged the police to take immediate legal action against the accused, seeking justice for his father’s death. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and the arrest of the prime suspect is a significant step towards ensuring justice for the victim’s family.
