Guwahati: Thieves nabbed by Police with stolen items in city

Various teams of the Guwahati Police apprehended multiple individuals involved in thefts, recovering stolen items ranging from laptops to mobile phones and copper wires.

Guwahati: Various teams of the Guwahati Police apprehended multiple individuals involved in thefts, recovering stolen items ranging from laptops to mobile phones and copper wires.

A team under Gorchuk Police apprehended one Mridul Ramchiary (28) of Salbari, Baksa, who was found loitering suspiciously at Katabari with a cache of stolen electronic items. The recovered items include a MacBook Air laptop, two Samsung mobile phones, one MI mobile phone, one Itel mobile phone, and a blue mobile phone. All items have been seized, and legal proceedings have been initiated.

In a separate case, a team from Fatashil Ambari Police nabbed Pranab Saha (25) of Dhupdhara at Ambari Tiniali with a stolen Vivo mobile set in his possession. He was taken into custody, and legal action is underway.

Meanwhile, a team from Dispur Police caught two individuals—Rohan Das of Odalbakra and Shivam Choudhury of Sribhumi Nagar—red-handed as they attempted to steal copper wires from a residence near Hayat Hospital. The duo was immediately apprehended, and necessary legal steps have been initiated.

Further, another team from Gorchuk police apprehended Krishna Thapa (19) of Gorchuk and recovered two stolen sewing machines linked to an earlier theft case. He is currently in custody as legal proceedings move forward.
