GUWAHATI: Three child labourers, aged 12-13, were rescued from Guwahati’s Santipur and Jalukbari areas. The District Task Force for Child Labour, supported by local police stations, conducted the rescue mission.
Speaking to the media, a representative from the Assam Centre for Rural Development stated, “The children were found working in poor conditions that kept them away from school and a safe environment. They have been moved to a shelter home under the care of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Kamrup Metro.” Authorities confirmed that the rescued children will be presented before the CWC, and further steps will be taken to ensure their rehabilitation, including access to education and proper care.
