Jayanta Madhab Bora Inaugurates Grantha Darpan Programme at Assam down town University

Renowned author Jayanta Bora, speaking at the Grantha Darpan event organized by the Central Library of Adt University, expressed that it was his first time attending a program dedicated to librarians.

GUWAHATI: Renowned author Jayanta Madhab Bora, who was the chief guest at the Grantha Darpan programme organized by the Central Library of Assam down town University programme, said that it was the first time he had seen a programme dedicated to librarians.

He also appreciated the efforts of the university in organizing such an event. The programme featured an exhibition of 24 books edited by faculty members of the university. The books were formally released by the chief guest, Jayanta Madhab Bora.

Taking part on the occasion, journalist Debajit Bhuyan said, "Librarians play a crucial role in preserving books, but they have yet to receive the recognition they deserve."

Journalist Bhuyan also spoke about his book "Asami Ailai Pronam" and its English translation "Voices of the Nation" by Atul Kumar Patowary.

The programme was attended by several librarians from various colleges in Assam.

In his speech, Dr. Nirmal Mazumdar emphasized the importance of depositing a copy of every published book in the National Library. He also highlighted the legal aspects of this requirement, a press release said.
