Kamrup: DTO-NHAI joint patrolling along NH-27 discussed in DRSC Meeting

Guwahati: A crucial meeting of the Kamrup Metropolitan District Road Safety Committee was held today in the conference hall of the office of the District Commissioner under the chairmanship of Kamrup Metropolitan District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metropolitan District Ajit Kumar Sharma, Special Duty Officer of the Transport Department and Additional In-charge District Transport Officer Gautam Das, Member Secretary of the District Road Safety Committee Abhijit Choudhury, Enforcement Inspectors Bikramaditya Gogoi, and officials from various departments related to road safety, including Public Works and Health Departments.

During the meeting, key issues were discussed, including coordination between the District Transport Officer (DTO) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for joint patrolling at various points along National Highway 27, ensuring safe travel for pedestrians and all types of vehicle users, and providing black spot data.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments involved in road safety to responsibly and efficiently fulfill their respective roles to reduce road accidents and minimize fatalities.
