PPF, Guwahati meet addresses varied concerns of senior citizens

The Progressive Peoples Foundation (PPF) Guwahati organized a senior citizens' meet on Sunday at an event attended by 75 seniors in Guwahati.

 GUWAHATI: The Progressive Peoples Foundation (PPF) Guwahati organized a senior citizens' meet on Sunday at an event attended by 75 seniors in Guwahati. The event, chaired by Jiyauddin Choudhury, Chairman of the PPF, addressed critical issues faced by senior citizens and marked the formation of the PPF Guwahati Elders Forum, dedicated to serving the needs of the elderly.

Mashuk Ahmad Laskar highlighted the activities of the PPF. Adv. Mehbubul Hassan Laskar performed as moderator. A significant outcome of the Senior Citizens' Meet was the establishment of the PPF Guwahati Elders Forum, aiming to provide comprehensive support to the elderly in the emotional, social, and wellness aspects of senior citizens in Guwahati.

In the meeting, Rafique Ahmed Laskar, Vice Chairman of PPF, unveiled a roadmap for PPF's service to senior citizens and informed the house that a number of organisations will come forward to support PPF for the same.

Dr. Ferdaus Ahmed Barbhuiya, Dean of IIIT Guwahati, discussed the adoption of technology for improved living, emphasizing the use of social media, smart devices, and other technologies, stated a press release.
