Promoted and transferred Assam police officers ordered to be released

The Assam Police Headquarters has asked all District Executive Force (DEF), units and organizations to release promoted and transferred police personnel

Guwahati: The Assam Police Headquarters has asked all District Executive Force (DEF), units and organizations to release promoted and transferred police personnel in the ranks of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Assistant Commandant, Inspector (UB) and Sub- Inspector (UB) within one week of the order.

In a communiqué signed by the Inspector General of Police (Admn.), it was informed that 95 inspectors (UB/AB) were promoted to the rank of APS Junior Grade as Deputy SP, SDPO, and Assistant Commandant by the government on August 29. Also, that 129 Sub-Inspectors were promoted to the rank of Inspector (UB) through an order from AP headquarters dated September 12. Another 3 Inspectors (UB) were also transferred by an order dated July 25 and July 23, 2023. The letter also mentioned that 51 Sub-Inspectors (UB) were transferred on different dates starting from September 14 to September 15, 2023.

The communiqué went on to say that in spite of communicating the promotion and transfers of the officers to the concerned controlling officers for the ranks mentioned, a large number of the promoted and transferred officers have not joined in their new places till date as they were not released by the disciplinary authority. It was therefore requested that the promoted and transferred officers be released from their earlier units within one week, otherwise the officers would be ordered released from Assam police headquarters.
